The work started in full swing around February 2019. Eight months later, in October 2019, the lake was brimming with water. Talking to The Better India, Ramen shares the endeavours that helped her achieve the seemingly impossible. 

The park was officially opened on 1 November 1959, but sometime in the same year, possibly in September, a small group of wild Painted Storks happened to fly around the zoo. They might have been scouting for a safe place to nest.

"I’m 47, and all these years, I’ve never seen my people burst crackers inside our village. We stay off from crackers even during temple Thiruvizhas."
