Laljibhai Prajapati lost his vision at 17. He founded Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal to support over 500 abandoned senior citizens and disabled individuals in Gujarat.
Yojana Gharat, who runs Smit Old Age Home and Care Foundation, has adopted over 3,500 abandoned elders, providing them with shelter, food, healthcare, and companionship. Despite challenges, she hopes to give them a permanent home so they can live with dignity.
A Pune trust is running an old-age home for destitutes and people whose children have abandoned them by selling different types of waste like plastic, newspapers, electronics and so on.
