Delhi EV startup Charge-Up, founded by Varun Goenka and Akshay Kashyap, is offering the Battery As A Service model to e-rickshaw drivers wherein they can swap batteries rather than spending hours waiting for them to charge.
“I like this app because I no longer have to chase after customers like before or even bargain with them. The best part is I earn anywhere between Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000 a month now,” says Shiv Kumar, an e-rickshaw driver.
Far more stable and jerk-free on bad roads, the fully indigenous ‘Deshla’ is not only clean and green, but also steals a march on conventional autos when it comes to safety, reliability, performance, and comfort!
The project, which will introduce public transport facility of e-rickshaws in the interior parts of the region, has roped in close to 200 self-help groups of whose members will be the drivers.
