Purposefully kept out of the dairy business because of their social position, Dalit women often represent some of the most oppressed individuals in the country.

The team ensures clean and stress-free housing for the animals. They are on a grass-based diet, and regular veterinary check-ups are done so the cows can produce milk that is antibiotic and hormone free.

After Ankita joined her father, she has introduced many modern techniques in the farm as well as in the dairy.

Shankar left his job in 2012 after working for Infosys for 15 years in India and abroad, and opted to become a farmer.
