Collaborating with Australian firms to revamp railway safety in India, Indian Railways looks all set to redefine the way the majority of Indians travel today.
Surekha, now 51, became India’s first female passenger train driver in 1988. The Indian Railways, a traditionally male-dominated industry, had finally opened its doors to women.
Under the first phase, the clinics will be set up at major stations like Andheri, Churchgate, Mumbai Central and Bandra, and will slowly expand to all 24 stations on the Western Railway line.
