When asked how else she is trying to bring this to Disney’s attention, she smiles, and says, “I am hoping that with these articles and social media posts we can create enough of a buzz to grab their attention.”

“We both have derived a lot of strength and support from each other,” she shares.

“When I was in grade 9, I started taking an active interest in working on issues around air pollution. I have worked with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Delhi Metro, and also with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) on various issues pertaining to the environment,” says the proactive teenager.

“Armed with my cup of tea, I looked through my phone. I came across a website where you could design visiting cards online. Without wasting time, I put down the rates she charged for various housework and designed a visiting card for her,” informs Dhanashree.

Verma's ingenious idea to circumvent this issue was to give Shafali a haircut that made her look like a boy. This allowed her to play every weekend.

The concept is simple – for every kilogram of plastic waste that a person donates, they get one kilogram of rice in return. Within days of launching this initiative, the group collected almost 400 kg of plastic waste from the town.

“What motivated me to begin this organisation was the widespread lack of understanding about basic concepts like personal hygiene and first aid responses amongst villagers. To improve the situation, I started Shri Sahayataa which provided villagers with a personalised primary healthcare kit and education about the essential concepts such as first aid and hygiene etc,” shares Rohan.

“A usual cough should ideally subsides either with or without medicines within a week to maximum two weeks. In case you find that even after that the cough persists you should get a medical practitioner to check it.”
