The Aravani Art Project, started by Bengaluru artist Poornima Sarkar, is helping the trans community share their joys, hopes, and dreams in the form of beautiful murals, while pushing them towards financial independence.

Reshma Anil Kumar from Kerala is non-binary and identifies as transmasculine and demisexual. They share their experiences of always feeling like they were “too different”.

At the fifth annual Hijra Habba, it was decided that the transgender community would come out in public and fight for inclusion through music and dance, and also exhibit their art and craft.
