“I feel blessed that I have been worthy of my village. My savings have been wiped out, but I am confident that once my crops begin fruiting, I will be able to clear off my debts,” says Prof Kamate.
“We have taken this decision as we think it works best for our child. No two sets of parents are the same, and hence it is essential that parents do what they believe is best for their child,” she says.
Instead of focusing on the regular crops, JSLPS encourages women to get involved in horticulture and plantation of medicinal plants. The specific occupation for them is suggested district-wise.
