In the heart of Pulwama, 180 Kashmir farmers have joined hands with scientists to create India’s first lavender honey. Born from purple fields and hard-won research, this “liquid gold” is reshaping livelihoods and putting Kashmir on the global honey map.
Bharat Bhushan, a pioneer in large scale cultivation of lavender in Kashmir, speaks about starting this trend a decade ago. He has influenced over 500 farmers to follow in his footsteps today.
“I started by researching about it and then, once I made a few soaps, the interest grew. Soon, people around me began asking for the soaps and that is how it all started,” he shares.
