The pride of Gir is in danger, and citizens are doing all they can to help.

Gir is the only home to Asiatic animals in the continent and as per the 2015 census, the lion population there was 523. Within three weeks, 23 big cats were reported dead and became a matter of rightful concern.

Two years ago, Puttapana Basappa was grazing his goats in a field when he spotted a young monkey who had fallen from a tree and was injured.

‘Bedhia Nar’s’ three little cubs were left motherless about two years ago. The cubs were just three months old then, and very vulnerable to the dangers of the jungle.

Apart from this he also keeps researching on herbs which can cure various diseases and spreads his knowledge for free.
