Nisha Pathak, a Class 12 student of Neeraja Modi school, Jaipur, Rajasthan, took up organic farming and now helps underprivileged families grow their own microgreens from materials available to them.
What started with just 4-5 plants, has now bloomed into a garden with hundreds of plants that provides the family with organic food, pure air and a cool temperature even in the rising heat of Delhi.
“I failed even in growing tomatoes which are the easiest. Once I tried growing potatoes but the plant ended up giving me chillies,” says Dr Shivani Kalra, who is now growing watermelons and various other vegetables in grow bags like a pro.
