In the year 2012 the village lacked water facilities, electricity and roads. Today, the village has paved roads, a solar operated water distribution system and electricity.
UNSECO has named Khangchendzonga National Park in Sikkim, India's first 'Mixed World Heritage Site’. The park has 20 peaks and it houses several forest sub-types and animal species.
