When Delhi-based Pragati Chaswal left her successful advertising career, she did not expect to start an environmental education movement. Through her SowGood Foundation, she brings hands-on sustainability and farming education to both private and government schools across the region.

In Chittoor’s rural areas, Dr Naperla Praveen is addressing healthcare issues like anaemia through free medical camps while also spearheading an environmental movement. By planting 50,000 trees, he’s not just improving public health but also fostering a sustainable environment that benefits the entire community.

“I would remain unfit for such an award till the flesh and blood of Mother India, in the form of precious topsoil from the Himalayas, flows down to the sea due to tree felling,” says the visionary man, explaining his rejection of the Padma Vibhushan award in 1981.
