While there is no upper age limit for applicants, they must be above 17 years of age. CTET has two papers - Paper 1 for teachers who wish to teach grades 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for grades 6 to 8.

Candidates must note that there is negative marking as well and each incorrect answer carries a penalty of about 0.25 marks.
