Brothers Rishabh and Rohan Suri started Qudrat, a Kerala-based startup that makes biodegradable tableware from agricultural waste. Their aim is to replace paper and plastic products, while also making them animal friendly.

Saranya and Devakumar Narayan, a Kerala-based couple, run Papla, an eco-friendly startup that makes tableware and other items of out areca leaves.

Yash Pakka, an Ayodhya-based venture, manufactures 100% compostable and biodegradable tableware (bowls, plates, food trays, containers) sourced from waste sugarcane fibre.

“The most basic fact which causes crop stubble burning, especially paddy straw, is the unavailability of its market. Unlike other agro-residues like wheat straw and bagasse, paddy straw is not used as an industrial raw material or even cattle feed.”
