Born in Kaziranga, Assam, Manoj Gogoi developed a deep love for wildlife from a young age and has rescued over 6,000 animals since starting his organisation in 2007. He continues to work tirelessly to save animals, especially during floods.
Anusweta Deb, an 18-year-old, was moved by the devastation caused by the Assam floods in 2019. With her friend Pooja Das, she created affordable life jackets using plastic bottles and sacks. In 2022, they distributed 200 jackets to rescue teams during the floods in Silchar, free of charge.

“On 16th July, the link went live at 1:30 p.m. and we tweeted about it everywhere and it blew up. When the link was initially set up, it was to raise Rs. 30,000 until 28 July. But we ended up raising Rs. 5.9 lakh in a matter of 24 hours!”
