In April 2014, the Vile Parle resident had booked train tickets on the Howrah Mumbai mail for his wife and son, who wanted to travel from Jabalpur to Mumbai in June 2014.

The train arrived in New Delhi, and onlookers were surprised to see its facade covered with beautiful art.

Along with the seven wagons of water that have already been dispatched from Chengalpattu, the national transporter has also been supplying bottled water to the flood-affected areas in Kerala.

IRCTC has decided to take this step and it shall be implemented from next month.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is an ambitious project and will have drivers, maintenance staff and engineers involved.

The aim behind this scheme is to achieve optimal utilisation of available berths in trains by reallocating vacant ones to those passengers who opted for the auto class upgrade, which in turn will help move waitlisted ones to the confirmed passenger list.

"Railway Board has decided that a policy provision will be made that existing Multi Purpose Stalls (MPS) at railway stations may be authorized to stock generic low-cost medicines, also in accordance with the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) scheme."

At first, these bio-toilets were lauded for converting human waste into water and bio-gas through anaerobic bacterial action and having a cross-ventilation system. But with their installation a few years ago, frequent complaints of choking, foul smell and non-functional bio-toilets surfaced.
