Earth Fokus, a Chennai-based startup incubated at IIT-Madras, recently launched its latest lines of water-saving nozzles—EcoMist Umbrella and QuaMist360—which can help save large quantities of water with every hand wash.

Debashish Sen introduced the System of Rice (or Root) Intensification (SRI) technique to farmers in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh in 2006, which was originally invented in the 1980s in Madagascar.

Around 3,500 residents of Hingangaon village in Maharashtra came together to raise Rs 1 crore as funds to conserve rainwater. The village is now tanker-free, and recorded 300 acres of sugarcane cultivation for the first time in 40 years

Chennai-resident Dayanand Krishnan, an engineer, says that his DIY rainwater harvesting system requires no plumbers or experts and can be replicated by anyone.

Piya Sharma, Jeiya Khurana, Aditya Tanwar, Mohammad Umar and Arjun Singh Bedi (who like to call themselves Fluid Force) says a standalone RO wastes 3 litres of water for every 1 litre that it purifies.

“After the water body completely transformed, we were surprised to notice that 10 to 15 different species of birds had begun to migrate here."

With a running water hose, it takes 75-100 litres of water to wash your car. Replace that with just a few drops of this wash!

A team of researchers from IIT-Delhi conducted a study across 20 major sewer drains and 5 prominent sites on river Yamuna in New Delhi. And what they found is a health threat we can no longer afford to ignore.

“I feel blessed that I have been worthy of my village. My savings have been wiped out, but I am confident that once my crops begin fruiting, I will be able to clear off my debts,” says Prof Kamate.
