A Pune trust is running an old-age home for destitutes and people whose children have abandoned them by selling different types of waste like plastic, newspapers, electronics and so on.

Project Mumbai is back with their successful Recyclothon. Their ongoing campaign — ‘Plastic Recyclothon: Ek Baar Phir’, flagged off on 2 October and to go on till 8 October, has already seen more than 1.25 lakh people volunteer to give away their plastic waste.

The once dump yard, today boasts of trees like pomegranate, sweet lime, guava, and also has plants like lemon, lady finger, tomato, black plum, lemon and bitter gourd.
