Imagine washing your clothes without water. Sounds unreal? That’s exactly what liquid CO₂ technology does, it cleans fabrics using pressurized carbon dioxide instead of H₂O!

Navjot Sawhney innovated a low-cost, unique washing machine after seeing the plight of his friend Divya. Today, the machine is a ray of hope for women of Iraq’s Mamrashan Refugee Camp and rural India.

With more than 300 million homes in India without electricity, the contraption invented by the 10-year-old can benefit many.

A pioneering nanotechnology research could soon help people get rid of their washing machines because clothes will start cleaning themselves.
