Unsung Heroes

Not many in the country today would have heard of Dr KB Menon or of his journey from a scholar teaching at the Harvard to a stalwart revolutionary in the Malabar, who found his greater calling in the independence struggle for his motherland.

From the MP Cop who ran 1 km with a 10 kg bomb to save 400 students to the one who carried a pilgrim who was having a heart attack uphill for two kms on his back, this is a small tribute to our very own khaki heroes who go beyond their call of duty for their people.

Mumbai Rains: And while this is only a small attempt at highlighting their work, words will never be enough to express how these everyday heroes strive to keep the city going.

From dawn to noon and evening to sunset, every day, the septuagenarian armed with a shovel, dug the soil out and threw it outside the well, for 18 months.

We take immense pride to say some of the awardees have been TBI heroes as well, who have impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands individuals and communities.
