Triplicane

This iconic brand was started by a man named Aiyappan in 1915 in an 850 sq ft house in the by-lanes of Triplicane in Chennai.

Mylapore resident Lakshmi Narayan had been discussing a newspaper article which spoke of an initiative where people took up the task of cleaning dirty bathrooms in their village, with his supervisor, Vinod, when he was struck by an idea.
