This braveheart fought for two long years to claim her right to don the uniform and serve the nation in the state police force and this Monday, 13 November 2017, was a turning point for her.

When 23 TG employees were deployed in June, the criteria for recruitment included their educational qualifications. While Kudumbasree trained them with soft skills, the Metro agency upskilled them in managing ticket counters and housekeeping.

The Islampur court is barely five minutes from the bus stand where she had slept in 2010, after inns refused to lodge her, because of her gender.

Organised by a transgender association in Kerala, the event has already held auditions and selected 26 hopefuls for the title of Queen of Dhwayah 2017.
