The focus of the film is that a 50-something mother of two gets pregnant. Badhaai Ho takes this highly "uncomfortable" subject of middle-aged people having sex and makes it light, fun even.

The quirky film is the feature directorial debut of film and stage personality, Anand Tiwari, who was the director of ‘Bang Baaja Baarat,’ a web series by Yash Raj Films and also marks the first solo venture by Ronnie Screwvala under his new independent production house RSVP.

The film revolves around Newton Kumar, a sincere and honest government clerk, who is sent on election duty in the conflict-ridden jungles of a Naxal-afflicted village in Chhattisgarh.

The makers of the film came out with a rebellious new poster last week, closely followed by a trailer that goes by the tagline, “The film they didn’t want you to see”.
