A benchmark for terrace farming in Chennai, this initiative believes in growing what you eat.

“Initially, the yield from organic farming may be low owing to field conversion. Pest attacks may be frequent. But if one understands how to go about it properly, it can be done more economically than that done using fertilizers.

Yielding a large variety of vegetables, the produce from Mehboob's garden includes bitter gourd, ladies finger, tomato, green chilli, capsicum, snake gourd, carrot, brinjal, pumpkin and ivy gourd.

The terrace farm has rice, radish, pomegranate, drumstick, yam and guavas, and turmeric a variety of other fruits and vegetables. Last year, he says eight kgs of turmeric were grown on the terrace!
