ONergy was founded in 2010 and since then, they have installed power plants with the capacity of 15MW, installed 5700 street lights and 756 solar water pumps.
“We knew we wished to combine the causes of environment and poetry with social entrepreneurship. Our best selling products would otherwise take 20,000 years to degenerate!” says Madhuri, one of the co-founders.
The couple had already been planning to buy a plot of land near Nanital, and saw this method of reusing plastic waste as a means to make a real difference.
"We started barely four months ago and already hundreds of village women have come on-board by now. From pots, diyas, agarbattis to even mobile phone stands and keychains, all these brilliant cow dung-based products are their brainchild."
