Dr Govinder Singh Pawar, a scientist of Indian origin at the University of Exeter in the UK, has now fabricated a semiconductor photoelectrode that can efficiently extract hydrogen from water.

By introducing charging points and pods in public spaces like IT parks, SEZs, shopping malls, commercial buildings and residential apartments, the plan is to encourage citizens to switch from conventional to electric automobiles.
