Meet Sukhmeet Singh, the man who is solving the nation’s paddy straw burning problem with this national award-winning startup, A2P (Agri2Power) Energy Solution.
A sustainable alternative to concrete walls and ceilings, these fibre panels made from agricultural waste can not just be a long term solution for stubble burning, but also fetch up to Rs 25000 for the farmers. #Innovation #GreenIndia
“It requires very less space to grow. In fact, if you start cultivating oyster mushrooms in a 2-litre soft drink bottle, it will give you a yield of about 0.5 kg in the first batch itself.”
The team further claims that one tonne of agricultural waste will produce about 100 Green Screens and prevent approximately one tonne of carbon dioxide from entering the air.
“The most basic fact which causes crop stubble burning, especially paddy straw, is the unavailability of its market. Unlike other agro-residues like wheat straw and bagasse, paddy straw is not used as an industrial raw material or even cattle feed.”
A startup incubated at IIT-D's Technology Business Incubator, Kriya labs has developed a sustainable processing technology that converts agro-waste like paddy straw into a versatile pulp.
