The campaign has gathered the support of prominent individuals, like Dr Arabinda Mitra, Scientific Secretary, Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, as well as celebrities like Saif Ali Khan and Rahul Dravid.
“Being a politically disturbed area, people here were scared to step out of their homes after sundown. As such, a regular job seemed impossible, driving many youngsters out of the state to search for jobs."
These incubation centres will aid researchers who are pursuing doctoral studies by providing them with a monthly compensation to encourage and kickstart their start-up journey.
Mumbai-based Haresh Mehta’s Paper Shaper, a corrugated cardboard manufacturing firm, is helping people do so by offering an alternate sustainable solution to wooden, metal and plastic furniture.
