Nitin Srivastava quit his job to launch Greengine Environmental Technologies, a startup that has a patented incentive-based waste management solution to encourage segregation

A vegetable and fruit market in Hyderabad is managing 10 tonnes of daily waste in a sustainable manner by converting it into biogas and electricity. Over the last six months, 10 tonnes of waste that is generated every day is being converted into 500 units of electricity.

"We removed over ten truckloads of garbage and renovated the place. Now, parents with their kids, pet parents with their dogs and especially the elderly of the area frequent the park every day."

Guwahati-based environmental scientist, Dr Amarjyoti Kashyap, has created a pond on the rooftop of his two-storey building on LNB Road at Hatigaon. He has been rearing and cultivating fish for the last one month.

With 11,000 volunteers joining in, this incredible citizen-led initiative has led to the return of 75 species of birds to the revived water bodies!

The Waste Samaritan initiative is a door-to-door waste monitoring solution undertaken as a pilot project in Domlur Layout’s ward number 112, with the support of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.
