Solar pumps

When a story by The Better India met the right reader, it opened a door inside a remote tiger reserve in Chhattisgarh. One call linked DFO Varun Jain with Earth Brigade Foundation, and together they began moving water, light and hope across a landscape that needed all three.

Dr Sarita Subramaniam and Dr PV Subramaniam, both dentists, have travelled far and wide across the length and breadth of India to stay connected to nature, and have found a novel solution to help save wildlife from dehydration this scorching summer.

P. David Raja Beula, a horticultural officer in Tamil Nadu, has developed a number of solar-powered pumps and sprayers to aid poverty-stricken farmers.
