Through their venture Karigar Biryani, Chennai-based hoteliers Kannan Velayudham and Girish Subhash have revived the perunchoru (meaning grand rice), which was created by Cheran King Uthiyan. The biryani is packed and delivered in handmade palm leaf boxes.
