Though sadly most were betrayed by their fellow Indians, many of them are now part of modern Indian folklore and must be celebrated.

With the exception of Tamil Nadu, both women are relatively unknown across the country despite their epic warfare tactics and historic win against the British in the eighteenth century.

These women were amongst the initial members of the armed independence movement lead by prominent Bengali revolutionary, Surya Sen, whose names would forever remain synonymous with the Chittagong Uprising.
