Given that Bengaluru airport generates a large quantum of waste each day, BIAL will use the plastic waste collected through this drive to pave its internal roads. “The #PlasticBeku campaign is one initiative that we believe can change the world,” says Chandramouli.
Setting an eco-friendly example, Maharashtra government has made it compulsory for the state PWD to use plastic waste for road construction and repair.
This move could help the state save around Rs 2 lakh per km on road maintenance, which (if do you the math) will save a whopping 20 crore on 1000 kms of road.
