Ever since childhood, Abha Sharma dreamed of becoming an actor. Her family's disapproval led her to pursue a teaching career instead. She started acting at the age of 54, and is winning hearts as 'Ammaji' in the web series 'Panchayat'.
Not many may know Jitendra Kumar—a 30-year-old actor from Khairthal, Rajasthan, of the Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan fame—was initially an IITian on his way to become a civil engineer.

“The shredded plastic waste is used for the tarring of roads by mixing the plastic with bitumen. As for the plastic granules, they are sold to factories to make hose and pipes,” says Sahajan.
“I observed that the dropout rate was extremely high in the school and my first challenge was to change this. It did not help that the school had no infrastructure,” says Kotresh.
“There were 328 BPL (Below Poverty Line) families in the village. They had neither house nor land. I could uplift them to APL (Above Poverty Line). I think as a Sarpanch that was my biggest achievement and my happiest memory.”
Given that Bengaluru airport generates a large quantum of waste each day, BIAL will use the plastic waste collected through this drive to pave its internal roads. “The #PlasticBeku campaign is one initiative that we believe can change the world,” says Chandramouli.
Over the years, people, especially the young, have been losing faith in elections. They are seen as frivolous or pointless. But not voting doesn’t declare disbelief in the voting system. It only worsens our own condition.
