Dr Anil K Rajvanshi, the man behind the e-rickshaws and biomass gasifiers, was awarded the Padma Shri this year for his work in the field of renewable energy research.
Dr Himmatrao Bawaskar, Padma Shri awardee, conducted monumental research and work into finding a way to treat scorpion stings. He brought the case fatality rate down from 40% to 1% in India.
