A resident of Kalyangiri, Hashmath Fathima started gardening seriously when she moved to her current house in Mysuru about 26 years ago.

From a unique variety of potatoes that grow on the soil instead of under it, to green beans that grow 1.5 feet long, the last six years have seen the family experiment with new types of crops and plants in their backyard.

These veggies are now being sold to the employees at heavily discounted rates through a makeshift market that the company holds weekly.
