For the past twenty years, Paras Banjara, has dedicated his life to fighting discrimination, securing vital documents, and advocating for land ownership for Rajasthan's nomadic tribes. Through Olakhaan Trust, he aims to reclaim their lost identity and ensure their rightful place in society, giving nomadic voices the recognition and rights they deserve.
Mittal Patel gave up the dream of becoming an IAS officer after she came in contact with the issues including employment, education and health plaguing in Gujarat’s tribal areas.
“No government was giving them the right solutions. Their problems were much more complex than the government providing them with houses in some welfare scheme,” she explains.
One amongst five children, Sakthi Ramesh, had also been a victim of discrimination in various government schools that he had been admitted to, owing to his lineage.
