Take the example of 72 km Khardung La Challenge. It is the ultimate test of human endurance. For nearly 60km of the total race, athletes are running above 4,000 metres (13,000 feet) above sea level not to mention freezing conditions and low oxygen.
“When someone asks me how old I am, I confidently tell them 13 years. Because I wasted nearly 50 years of my life doing nothing,” says the first visually impaired person to complete the 19,000 Dolma Pass in Tibet.
Roshni discovered a love for running while in the middle of a heartbreak in 2003. Now she trains other runners and facilitates their entry into marathons. Her dream is for one of her team members to win an Olympic medal for India.
