All 274 households in Vyachakurahalli village located in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka have LPG stoves now, and nobody cooks with firewood any more. The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has officially declared Vyachakurahalli as the first smokeless village in India.
