India has earned itself the title of being the fastest developing solar power industry in the world, while also boasting of being the lowest cost producer of solar power in the world.
Known as the Solar Man of Kolkata, the man with a 35-year-old career in renewable energy, was recently honoured with the prestigious Mission Innovation Champion Award in Vancouver, Canada on May 27, 2019.
The innovation found great appreciation during the ‘Akshay Urja Utsav’ conducted by the Agency for Non-conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT) last week in Thiruvananthapuram.
17-year-old Akash Singh, who hails from Jewar, Greater Noida, was struck by the idea after watching his grandfather finding a regular walking stick heavy to lift.
