Freelance photographer Sharun S has recreated the most famous works of art by painter Raja Ravi Varma, with trans models, in a bid to break existing notions of beauty.

“They were courageous enough to ask me all sorts of personal questions. This kind of openness in their generation, and in India in general, is extremely rare and I was fortunate enough to have it.”

Apart from rightly providing their services to everyone and never bringing the gender spectrum into perspective, the businesses have pledged to train their staff to be more sensitive.
