Despite multiple threats to her own life, she never backed down. Nearly five years after her untimely passing, The Better India pays tribute to this unique soul.

By being in urban settings, kids are increasingly isolated from the land and farming. The learning of the food production cycle is mostly confined to the pages of the schoolbooks. The society launched the project ‘Little Farmers’ to bridge this increasing gap by engaging kids in the fun of farming.

Having been paralysed at the age of 9, this Kolkata-based teacher has been self-quarantining for 40 years now. He founded Knowledge Capsules with the sole objective of keeping his students abreast with current affairs.

Students will have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements and bring their laptops.

“For six years, I have observed them first-hand, and I am happy that many others will now read their story and be inspired.”

“Our love story started out with a rejection. I was crossing the road and he extended his hand to help. By then I had adapted myself in crossing roads and doing other motor skills so I refused. Who knew a refusal would lead to a lifetime of companionship."
