Just a week before he appeared for his Prelims, Saurabh Bhawania became a father. He did not miss his son’s vaccination and special moments nor did he compromise on his studies. Here’ how he cracked UPSC!

Having completed her architecture degree from the School of Planning and Architecture in 2003, Aishwarya says that the choice of working with heritage buildings and structures was made rather early on in life.

Known as the Solar Man of Kolkata, the man with a 35-year-old career in renewable energy, was recently honoured with the prestigious Mission Innovation Champion Award in Vancouver, Canada on May 27, 2019.

“For far too long in Indian art, women have been depicted as goddesses or subordinates. In my artwork, I try to portray women as I see them around me," says the last of Kolkata's Patua painters.

“I was 10 years old when I first came across a television. The first time I saw a film was when one night, a rich family in the village hired a television and screened a film. Growing up, I loved writing and telling stories, although even as a teenager, I never thought that one day I'd make a film,” says Dominic Sangma.

The oldest women's college in Asia, Bethune College has been blazing a trail for nearly 140 years. Among its alumnae are legends like Kadambini Ganguly (India's first female graduate), Asima Chatterjee (one of the first female Doctorate of Science in India) and Sarala Devi Chaudharani (founder of the first women's organisation in India)!
