In April 2020, Ravishankar VM and Surya VM, residents of Chennai duo began learning the traditional art form - Kolam and decorating their threshold as a hobby. Today, they make elaborate designs and have over 35,000 followers on social media.
Aruna Visesvar and her husband Visesh Aiyer have painted 55 kolams and rangolis on their compound wall in Madurai to provide a livelihood to a struggling artist.
“Making kolams on an almost every day basis gives me a purpose and a reason to go on,” says Bhargavii, who dons various hats. An interior designer by qualification, Bhargavii has varied interests in multiple art forms ranging from photography to animation.
