Fighting child marriage, transforming schools, generating employment, making healthcare accessible — it has been a year of hard efforts. And as the year comes to an end, we would like to draw special attention to 10 such officers and their efforts, who have done all they could do, to make India better.

Jitendra Kumar Soni, the collector of Jalore district in Rajasthan, was very touched when he saw three students coming to school barefoot in December last year. They were shivering in cold. In the first week of January, he started a scheme named 'Charan Paduka Yojna' with the aim of providing shoes to 25,000 school children before Republic Day.
