Watching dissatisfied youth leave their city jobs to return to their remote village, Priya Nadkarni and Digvijay Singh realised that vocational training is like a band-aid on a deep wound. So, they decided to tackle the root cause of this heartbreaking scenario. And succeeded!

A piece of chocolate that you never got to eat, or a random stranger on the road who taught you the virtue of kindness, life’s gift to all of us often comes in ways that we least expect.

There's a general rule of thumb when you're thinking of donating old clothes: would you give it to a friend? If the answer is yes, then you could go right ahead. If the answer is no, because the clothes are torn, dirty or unusable, it would be better to find alternate uses/options.

“When I realised I was pregnant, the first feeling was of fear. I was afraid of the world and how it would receive or treat my child. People around me kept pushing me towards abortion. They said that I was not fit to be a mother. But, who are they to tell me if I will be a good mother or not?"

This #MothersDay, we celebrate the pure awesomeness and inspiration that are India's #SuperMoms. "She is our best friend, our mother, our father, our god, our everything! The amount of unconditional love that she has showered on us is immeasurable," says one of her daughters.

Rejected by hostels for being blind, Rahul Deshmukh has opened digital libraries, computer classes and even a hostel that have benefited thousands of intellectually-challenged and visually-impaired students.

"I have two elder sisters who were brilliant in studies. Sadly, they were were married off when they were in Class 9. It was heartbreaking to see how their marriages turned out. It scared me, but it also pushed me to work harder and do better."

“I would remain unfit for such an award till the flesh and blood of Mother India, in the form of precious topsoil from the Himalayas, flows down to the sea due to tree felling,” says the visionary man, explaining his rejection of the Padma Vibhushan award in 1981.
