An elderly woman feeling unwell onboard a train got medical help after her sister-in-law, actor Renuka Shahane, tweeted about it to the Railway Minister.

Four railway employees from Nagpur are doing their bit to help quench the thirst of villagers in drought-hit Latur.

In a passenger friendly move, Indian Railway will now allow ticket bookings 30 minutes prior to the departure of a train. The move will not just enable passengers to travel in emergency situations and be better informed but also eliminate illegal ticketing activities.

Train passengers will soon be relieved of the ever increasing stench on railway tracks because of human waste which is discharged directly from train toilets on to the tracks. 800 coaches of trains originating from Pune have been installed with eco-friendly toilets.
