The Southern Railway conducted the sixth heritage run of the steam loco, Express EIR 21, which lugged a single coach from Chennai’s Egmore to Kodambakkam.

The rationale behind the move is the unavailability of direct flights between the two cities. Also, a flight with a stopover may take over four hours.

Under the first phase, the clinics will be set up at major stations like Andheri, Churchgate, Mumbai Central and Bandra, and will slowly expand to all 24 stations on the Western Railway line.
