The anonymous 'Weatherman of Mumbai' is a banker by day and a weather enthusiast whenever time permits. His tweets and accurate localised weather updates, one argues, help thousands of Mumbaikars better than the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
"Back in 1999, we had nothing. There was not a single cyclone shelter. We were bereft of communication systems. People did not when and where the cyclone would hit. We have come a long way since," says Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada Sethi.
